Trippy Friday: A Trifling Trip of the Devil's Own (MDMA)

9:30- First pinky dip of Molly. I snorted half up my nose and licked the rest off my finger. This was just a taste test to see, if in fact, what I was about to buy was pure MDMA powder with absolutely NO CUT. Pure hard crystal rock.

10:30- Satisfied, I quickly attained a gram of the stuff. Take another pinky dip and lick it down.

11:00- Drop off my newly found dealer and begin the 45min drive home. I already feel the speedy effect and have dilated pupils.

11:20- Feeling nostalgic, I take another couple pinky dips just to make sure I get real high tonight. I haven’t had a good MDMA experience in quite a while. I stop for gas and by a sobe to wash down the Molly’s nasty taste in my mouth.

[Note: Driving while intoxicated, tripping, or extremely sleep deprived is dangerous and irresponsible because it endangers other people. Don't do it!] (MORE AFTER THE CUT)

ABL Health: Computer Eye Strain: 10 Steps for Relief

 http://www.howtogeek.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/bigstock-tired-senior-man-rubs-eyes-50292716.jpg
With so many of us using computers at work, computer eye strain has become a major job-related complaint. Studies show that eye strain and other bothersome visual symptoms occur in 50 to 90 percent of computer workers.
These problems can range from physical fatigue, decreased productivity and increased numbers of work errors, to minor annoyances like eye twitching and red eyes.
Here are 10 easy steps you can take to reduce your risk of computer eye strain and other common symptoms of computer vision syndrome (CVS):
1. Get a comprehensive eye exam.
Having a routine comprehensive eye exam is the most important thing you can do to prevent or treat computer vision problems.
According to the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), computer users should have an eye exam before they start working on a computer and once a year thereafter.
During your exam, be sure to tell your eye doctor how often you use a computer at work and at home. Measure how far your eyes are from your screen when you sit at your computer, and bring this measurement to your exam so your eye doctor can test your eyes at that specific working distance.
2. Use proper lighting.
Eye strain often is caused by excessively bright light either from outdoor sunlight coming in through a window or from harsh interior lighting. When you use a computer, your ambient lighting should be about half as bright as that typically found in most offices.
Eliminate exterior light by closing drapes, shades or blinds. Reduce interior lighting by using fewer light bulbs or fluorescent tubes, or use lower intensity bulbs and tubes. If possible, position your computer monitor or screen so windows are to the side, instead of in front or behind it. (more after the cut)

#TBT Abuja Post: Rich Kids, Mtcheeew (i'm not a hater)

If one is not careful, you can drift from all your values and morals in this town it’s so easy because the competition is in the air we breathe, everybody wants to be their own definition of successful; we want to be respected so we chase money because money brings respect. Some of us that have it rough will hate, envy even avoid the rich kids in this town who have never had to worry about money since they were born because their parents have stolen all the ones we are supposed to hustle for. Trippy Friday: I Imagined Rape During a Trip (LSD, MDMA (Ecstasy), Cannabis & Catha edulis (Khat)

After a busy and nerve-wracking term at university I went to a psytrance party in the middle of nowhere with my brother, his girlfriend and four of his friends. We had all been pretty close before this, and I was excited for another mind-altering night on LSD. I had tripped twice before that and had an amazing and life-changing time. Acid had consumed me, mentally and spiritually. It was all I thought about and all I wanted to talk about. I believed acid was god's gift to humans; the substance that could save the human race. I never imagined it could ever have a dark side.

I was arrogant about my tolerance, and dropped two hoffmans and an MDMA without thinking. Within an hour I was getting the usual visuals and feelings, but a nervous tingling that I contributed to the strange area we were in was starting. The trip started out all right. I realized that 'the substance is all around us.' That is, that every single tree, plant, piece of grass and earth is acid. Acid is wonderful, acid is a vibrant pulsating call to consciousness. ABL Health: 8 Ways to Lower Your Heart Disease Risk

                                         https://www.womenshealth.gov/heart-health-stroke/images/heart-stethoscope.jpg
You can do a lot to lower your odds of getting heart disease. Taking action will improve your health -- and, possibly, save your life. Get going on these 8 ways to get on track.
1. Quit smoking. If you smoke, you are more than twice as likely to have a heart attack as nonsmokers, and you’re much more likely to die if you do have a heart attack.
2. Improve cholesterol levels. You're more likely to get heart disease if you have:
  • Total cholesterol level over 200
  • HDL ("good") cholesterol level under 40
  • LDL ("bad") cholesterol level over 160
  • Triglycerides over 150
Cholesterol isn't the only thing that matters. Your doctor will consider the big picture, including all your potential risks. To help lower cholesterol levels, eat a diet low in cholesterol, saturated fat, and refined sugars. (more after the cut)

Your Honest-to-God Guide to STDs 1

                    http://www.newhealthadvisor.com/images/1HT07452/475982591%20STD%20word%20collection.jpg
Chances are, if you’re reading this, you’re scared by the idea of catching some sort of STD. Or at least you have been in the past. That night you got drunk and didn’t have a condom but went for it anyway. Or maybe you hooked up with someone who had a reputation for sleeping with every third person in the phone book.
Perhaps you freaked out and rushed to get tested the next morning. Maybe you started Googling around frantically to convince yourself that you’re OK, only to find horrifying images and statistics about how people lost internal organs, limbs and never, ever had sex again because they were so hideously deformed by some pesky infection… Your mind begins racing, your liver DOES hurt, you think to yourself. It must be an early onset of AIDS. Obviously… (more after the cut)

Poetry Wednesday: The Fall [Poem about Addiction]

[Everyone’s addicted to something]

I miss you
Your subtle touch,
The way you caressed my brain
The way you brought me to life,
With you, I could taste the air
Feel the rain drops in clear skies
You showed me the light
You chose my path
I was on clouds
Flying, soaring, drifting,
skipping without ropes
You pleasured my soul
with you I loved myself, I didn’t care about the world
With you I was in sync with earth
You said you would be there for me, always
To give me my euphoria (more after the cut)

Are You an Emotional Vampire?

                                         http://markmanson.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/emotionalvampire81.jpg
Here’s a quick quiz for you to take. Answer the following questions. Be as honest as possible:
1.      Do you feel that people often don’t (or can’t) understand you or your problems?
2.      Do you feel that there are many barriers in your life which you have no control over?
3.      Do you often ask for help from others and/or feel like few people are willing to help you?
4.      Do you feel like you often don’t receive the attention or appreciation that you deserve?
5.      Do people often complain that you don’t listen to them, when in fact, you feel like they don’t listen to you?
6.      Do you feel like most other people have lives that are much easier than yours?
7.      Do you fight with close friends and loved ones often?
8.      If so, is it usually their fault?
9.      Do people suddenly drop contact with you with no explanation and refuse to communicate with you again?
10. Do you often feel helpless, like you have little opportunity to improve your life?

Monday Inspiration: Stop Trying to be Happy!!!

                                                   http://comiccarnival.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/fake-smile.jpg
If you have to try to be cool, you will never be cool. If you have to try to be happy, then you will never be happy. Maybe the problem these days is people are just trying too hard.
Happiness, like other emotions, is not something you obtain, but rather something you inhabit. When you’re raging pissed and throwing a socket wrench at the neighbor’s kids, you are not self-conscious about your state of anger. You are not thinking to yourself, “Am I finally angry? Am I doing this right?” No, you’re out for blood. You inhabit and live the anger. You are the anger. And then it’s gone.
Just as a confident man doesn’t wonder if he’s confident, a happy man does not wonder if he’s happy. He simply is.
What this implies is that happiness is not achieved in itself, but rather it is the side effect of a particular set of ongoing life experiences. This gets mixed up a lot, especially since happiness is marketed so much these days as a goal in and of itself. Buy X and be happy. Learn Y and be happy. But you can’t buy happiness and you can’t achieve happiness. It just is. And it is once you get other parts of your life in order. (more after the cut)

The Shortest Relationship of my Life, I was "Taken" for a Week

Somedays I just love the “no rush” type atmosphere of the city, the On Your Own lifestyle, other days I just want to pack my bags and run away to a far away land and find love. Personally I’ve been  single for 3years now and I must say I’ve had the best time of my life so far but as much as I want to seem like I don’t care, on the low low I’ve been searching for that one person that will make my heart skip a beat, just thinking about that person will make me smile and I came so close to this on the first week of February. I met a guy, he was everything I wanted, skinny, very good to look at, I mean everything  A okay. Until I saw his other side. (more after the cut)

It’s Complicated: Why Relationships and Dating Can Be So Hard

  http://markmanson.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/mind-maps-780x459.jpg
When you think about it, despite feeling difficult, the problems people struggle with in dating sound pretty trivial.
For instance, we have been walking and talking our entire lives, yet walking up to an attractive person and opening our mouths to say “hi” can feel impossibly complex to us. People have been using a phone since they were children, yet given the agony some go through just to dial a person’s phone number, you’d think they were being waterboarded. Most of us have kissed someone before and we’ve seen hundreds of movies and instances in real life of other people kissing, yet we still stare dreamily into the object of our affection’s eyes hour after hour, telling ourselves we can never find the “right moment” to do it.
Why? It sounds simple, but why is it so hard? (more after the cut)

Monday Inspiration: The Most Important Question of Your Life

                                  https://rejuvenateyouressence.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/question-mark-220x220.jpg
Everybody wants what feels good. Everyone wants to live a carefree, happy and easy life, to fall in love and have amazing sex and relationships, to look perfect and make money and be popular and well-respected and admired and a total baller to the point that people part like the Red Sea when you walk into the room.
Everyone would like that — it’s easy to like that.
If I ask you, “What do you want out of life?” and you say something like, “I want to be happy and have a great family and a job I like,” it’s so ubiquitous that it doesn’t even mean anything.
A more interesting question, a question that perhaps you’ve never considered before, is what pain do you want in your life? What are you willing to struggle for? Because that seems to be a greater determinant of how our lives turn out.
Everybody wants to have an amazing job and financial independence — but not everyone wants to suffer through 60-hour work weeks, long commutes, obnoxious paperwork, to navigate arbitrary corporate hierarchies and the blasé confines of an infinite cubicle hell. People want to be rich without the risk, without the sacrifice, without the delayed gratification necessary to accumulate wealth. (more after the cut)

Abuja Myth Busters on Replay--- Episode 2: "We do not all have sugar daddies"

As much as its the trend especially in a town like this, we need to clear the air. Please and please we don't all have sugar daddies. Some of us are working our asses off 8hrs a day 5days a week, looking for ushering jobs and whatever brings extra cash on the weekends. Not all of us have sugar daddies that spoil us and give us all the money we want, in fact if it's not work money, its either some friends are just nice and give us change from time to time or we have a bf who is trying to support too. Besides where dem dey find sugar daddy because if it was so easy maybe I fit done get by now but as dem no dey pluck for tree nko?
And please not everyone wants to ruin their life and face karma later by having to deal with our husband sleeping with young hotties or be going for deliverance from spirit husband, some of us still have values and self respect that money can't buy so when next you open your fat mouth to say all these girls have sugar daddies, Nna remember this post.

The Subtle Art of Not Giving A Fuck (+18 Content has Strong Language)

                                     http://markmanson.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/tim_optimized.png
In my life, I have given a fuck about many people and many things. I have also not given a fuck about many people and many things. And those fucks I have not given have made all the difference.
People often say the key to confidence and success in life is to simply “not give a fuck.” Indeed, we often refer to the strongest, most admirable people we know in terms of their lack of fucks given. Like “Oh, look at Susie working weekends again, she doesn’t give a fuck.” Or “Did you hear that Tom called the company president an asshole and still got a raise anyway? Holy shit, that dude does not give a fuck.” Or “Jason got up and ended his date with Cindy after 20 minutes. He said he wasn’t going to listen to her bullshit anymore. Man, that guy does not give a fuck.”
Chances are you know somebody in your life who, at one time or another, did not give a fuck and went on to accomplish amazing feats. Perhaps there was a time in your life where you simply did not give a fuck and excelled to some extraordinary heights. I know for myself, quitting my day job in finance after only six weeks and telling my boss that I was going to start selling dating advice online ranks pretty high up there in my own “didn’t give a fuck” hall of fame. Same with deciding to sell most of my possessions and move to South America. Fucks given? None. Just went and did it. (more after the cut)

Trippy Friday: Nightmare School (Ecstasy/LSD)

I would hope that it be first understood of my choice of title to what proceeds that no exaggeration is intended. This was my most horrific of dreams come to a vivid and fearsome life of its own.

This also happens to be the story of a fucking idiot.

I'll not waste the time of the reader detailing my past drug experiences (this account is long enough) suffice I've been a user of drugs at one time or another for nearly 15 years and have experimented with numerous substances, largely to positive and fondly remembered effect.

On this particular occasion I realized the truth behinds warnings associated with hallucinogenic experimentation and as such would and have extended these warnings to all with whom I converse on the topic.

Before I detail the experience in question I shall first give a short description of my very first attempt at LSD consumption. It was at a house party at my home in around 2001/2002 and involved the taking of one tab of acid. It was in general a new and interesting experience though half way through my trip I fell prey to a nervousness I was unfamiliar with that forced my hiding away in my bedroom for the rest of the night. A strange and unnerving time to be sure but not of the level associated with my next experience and as such, its warnings of the effects of LSD on my system went unheeded. (more after the cut)

Trippy Friday: One Full Week of Straight Hell! (MDMA aka Molly and Meth)

I had gone up to my boyfriend’s college to visit him Valentine’s Day weekend on Friday night. We had been doing MDMA on a pretty regular basis, and this weekend was to be no different. But drugs could not be found at the college so we took the 2 hour drive back to my hometown, borrowing my friend bill's car, to pick up some e and then go back. When we got to my friend's house who was hooking us up with the E, I was told that there was meth around. I was scared, I had never done meth and I knew that I was going to get the chance to that night. (more after the cut)
