Do You Know: What the Bible says about Pre-marital sex?

The world today is full of compromise and so a lot of people know what's right but still choose to bend the truth or be selective about it , they choose to follow the crowd mainly to be accepted by society. Sex, particularly premarital sex is  a sensitive matter and because everyone's doing it doesn't make it right, that every young man in Naij is involved in internet scam (yahoo or G or yahoo plus plus) doesn't make it right or doesn't change the fact that its stealing and is fraudulent and even though they sometimes use the money gotten from it to take care of their suffering families, making life better and more bearable for them, still doesn't make it right. But in our world today, premarital sex is the new normal in fact some people don't see how one can be in a relationship without sex at all, it's totally bizarre and out of this world to them but what does the bible have to say in this matter? Like I said last week, the information/knowledge we get from the Bible  can be trusted because it is truth, life and stands the test of time, its always in play. And so what does the Bible have to say about premarital sex? (More after the cut)

Poetry Tuesday: Life Lessons

I closed the door to my past
Tied up the loose ends at last
Answered questions of what might have been
Understand what’s now and what was then
I believed fate was trying to break my heart
Each time I let go, tried to make a new start

Life lessons I learned each day
Each tear drop shed words they say
Became a little tougher at night
Waiting for you to come in my life
Wanted to be the right moment in time
I couldn’t get a man like you off my mind
It’s true I had second thoughts
Scared of what I might have lost
Still so much I wanted to do
Didn’t want to be held back by you
Never could imagine you not here with me (more after the cut)

Do You Know: What the Bible says about tattoos?

So we started this series last week and it's been getting a lot of buzz. So many people don't read their bibles these days even though the Bible instructs us to meditate on it day and night they just say what they heard or assume its what the bible says. Too many people twist the truth to best soothe their lies, or better still they selectively read the bible and pick what they like and the rest is well not their business. I no fit judge anybody cos me sef na try I dey try cos nobody's perfect in this world and we'll never be, and nobody holy pass. As I study the word of God for my own personal spiritual growth, this series will share with you my findings on major issues from time to time. So today its all about tattoos, I love them, some are just amazing and there's 3D tattoos now sef. I waned to get one but ma papa for just disown me, too strict. So what does the Bible say about tattoo's? (More after the cut)

Poetry Tuesday: Indignant (poem about self and yet still not sure)

I don’t want
your pity
your empathy
your sympathy

I know what I am…
strength in fragility
placing others before me
something only I see

I know at times
I turn my head
hide in my bed

Drug Awareness Blog posts (DAB); I Thought She Was Going to Die...(cocaine)

My girlfriend and I had been doing cocaine on occasion together on the weekends alone (just her and myself) we generally would do about an 8 ball in a night and not mess with it again for a few weeks, then we would have another 'talk session' as was the intended point of this use. Our experiences were very pleasant for the most part... Wonderful communication, stimulation and sexual lustfulness. However the first night we decided to get a quarter oz thing turned very bad.( more after the cut)

Health: Boils (small but mighty)

Mehn have you ever had multiple boils on your ass before? It's not funny, the thing is small but mighty because the pain no be here and you go dey sit down with one side. Here's some info on what they are, what causes them and how to prevent them and get treatment.

A boil is a skin infection that starts in a hair follicle or oil gland. At first, the skin turns red in the area of the skin , and a tender lump develops. After four to seven days, the lump starts turning white as pus collects under the skin.
The most common places for boils to appear are on the face, neck, armpits, shoulders, and buttocks. When one forms on the eyelid, it is called a sty.
If several boils appear in a group, this is a more serious type of infection called a carbuncle. (More after the cut)

#TBT Abuja Post: "I Work with a Private Company"

Having a government job is many people's dream/wish, I mean the reasonable working hours, the sign in, go out,  come back closing time and sign out pattern, the relaxed atmosphere of the work and the luxury of owning a side business. Your boss may or may not be an asshole but he can't fire you because na government employ am too. Whether the pay is good or amazing, that feeling of security gives us peace of mind.
Private companies have stricter rules and regulations, more seriousness even when what's really been done is not much. If you come late two times, query, if you leave before time, warning or even suspension as was my case, working hours between 9 and 11 but no less, to get business on the side go take the grace of God. Everything just so annoying.
To score a job with a private company here involves one of these ways: (more after the cut)

The Power of Choice

We become what we become because of the way we choose and will ourselves to think. Our choices affect our thoughts and our thoughts affect who we are, what we stand for, and the footprints we leave on this planet.
Throughout our lives, we are faced with a myriad of choices. We may not always recognize their presence, , like it or not, we are constantly faced with the responsibility of choosing. There is no escescapingis responsibility. Not deciding what to do or how to act in a given situation is, in itself, a choice.
Making choices also means accepting the idea that we are part of a bigger picture. We are not alone in our choices. Our choices affect not only ourselves, but the people around us. Our choices shape our actions. Our actions are received and interpreted by those around us. These actions shape the opinions and feelings of those individuals and, ultimately, the actions they take for or against our behalf.(more after the cut)

Poetry Tuesday: No Red Lights [Poem about over thinking, Don’t let it steal your happiness]

                                                   image
No red lights in my head
In here they don’t exist
Thoughts keep racing back and forth
Endlessly confused by reality
Sleep only a temporary antidote to the chaos within for which insomnia is now the thief
Does it end when we fall?
I mean the traffic in our heads
Or is it just me?
Does it mean nothing in the end?
Can dream be counted among the crowd? (more after the cut)

"Mehn Marriage no be Beans o"

As a Nigerian you must have heard the phrase "suffering and smiling?" If you haven't, it was coined in 1942 (of course not legit) from the word suffer head based on  the experiences or way of life of the Nigerian women in their marriages and I'd explain why as we go along. You need to sit down and sip zobo for this one o. Normally in naij, the pressure to get married is highly on the woman. Immediately after university some parents are already whispering marriage into her ears after that they will start advicing her non stop about marriage, subtly hinting at it with everything but if at 24 or 25 she still hasn't gotten married it will turn to prayer point. Any other age from then on, it will enter either match making things or they will be taking her for deliverance or from one prayer mountain to another. Next thing she'll end up being pressured into marrying early and to someone she probably doesn't even love or who is totally wrong for her. (more after the cut)

Monday Inspiration: 5 Powerful Ways to Boost Your Self Confidence

Confidence gives you the power to conquer the world. Here's how you can learn to be confident in all you do.

Self-confident people are admired by others and inspire confidence in others. They face their fears head-on and tend to be risk takers. They know that no matter what obstacles come their way, they have the ability to get past them. Self-confident people tend to see their lives in a positive light even when things aren't going so well, and they are typically satisfied with and respect themselves.
Wouldn't it be amazing to have this kind of self-confidence, every day of the week? Guess what? You can.
"Low self-confidence isn't a life sentence. Self-confidence can be learned, practiced, and mastered--just like any other skill. Once you master it, everything in your life will change for the better." --Barrie Davenport
It comes down to one simple question: If you don't believe in yourself, how do you expect anybody else to?
Try some of the tips listed below. Don't just read them and put them on the back burner. Really begin to practice them daily, beginning today. You might have to fake it at first and merely appear to be self-confident, but eventually you will begin to feel the foundation of self-confidence grow within you. With some time and practice (this is not an overnight phenomenon), you too can be a self-confident person, both inside and out, whom others admire and say "Yes!" to.(more after the cut)
