Having a government job is many people's dream/wish, I mean the reasonable working hours, the sign in, go out, come back closing time and sign out pattern, the relaxed atmosphere of the work and the luxury of owning a side business. Your boss may or may not be an asshole but he can't fire you because na government employ am too. Whether the pay is good or amazing, that feeling of security gives us peace of mind.
Private companies have stricter rules and regulations, more seriousness even when what's really been done is not much. If you come late two times, query, if you leave before time, warning or even suspension as was my case, working hours between 9 and 11 but no less, to get business on the side go take the grace of God. Everything just so annoying.
To score a job with a private company here involves one of these ways: (more after the cut)
1. The company belongs to a family member or friend or relation or some big person referred you to his friend who is the CEO or u just sabi am
2. If the CEO is a man, as a woman the chances of you shagging him to get the job on a scale of 1 to 5 is like 8, as a man e fit be favor or e fit be referral from a friend
3. Your friend is shagging the man so you begged her to beg him to help you.
4. God's favor just shined on your destiny and him done sign am say you go get the private Job without any human connects and somehow somehow you just got the job through online application, or owner of company just see you one day like you just give you Job with no strings (very rare)
Abuja Private Jobs will drain you of your energy, time and social life for a pay that you know the company is bigger than. It’s only in Abuja that your boss will owe you salary for months because he just gave his babe 5million last week to travel to Dubai and everyone will know about it but they will expect you to come to work every day. If as a lady you didn't sleep with the boss to get in and maybe he tries to get it after you have been employed and you refuse, he will make your life a living hell.
Private Job now done turn rubbish and has lost its value. I remember the time when you told someone you work with a private company, they would be like "na una dey flex o" because then, the pay was awesome although still stressful, but that one done enter voicemail.
How you take get your private job? Government workers una well done o (not from my mind).
