He gazed into the darkness. Lost in his mind.
Oblivion. It seemed like home now.
Haunted by memories. Especially the happy ones and how he might never feel them again.
They brought him to a time when he hadn’t been so alone. Where he still lived in their memories.
But here he stood. Absent from the world. Absent.
Drifting through the cosmos. Hoping to be caught.
The sadness was poignant. (more after the cut)
And then it faltered. Waning with each passing moment.
Out here in the edges of his mind. Of the world. The Sun had found him.
Warmth. Pleasant. Consuming all of his being. Putting him to sleep.
When the cock crowed, he sprung to life. Unburdened. With lucid eyes.
The aeonian Sun brought aeonian peace.
Light.
He found his was back to the world. Back to the present. And joy.
