You,
you are a question unanswered
A task too great for a mind as young as yours
So you wander the earth searching for answers
Stuck in ditch after ditch, climbing out of wine glasses
Sticking your feet in the oddest of puddles, moistening your ignorance
you are a question unanswered
A task too great for a mind as young as yours
So you wander the earth searching for answers
Stuck in ditch after ditch, climbing out of wine glasses
Sticking your feet in the oddest of puddles, moistening your ignorance
You
Your name is unknown to you, you
pretend to know everything
Yet you entrap yourself in falsehood peddled by preachers
You bathe in the nearest pool, baptizing your soul from sin
Haven’t you realized you emerge blacker than you when you took a dip
Don’t you feel overwhelmed with more questions than you had (more after the cut)
Yet you entrap yourself in falsehood peddled by preachers
You bathe in the nearest pool, baptizing your soul from sin
Haven’t you realized you emerge blacker than you when you took a dip
Don’t you feel overwhelmed with more questions than you had (more after the cut)
You?
That’s who’s meant to save us? Be
meat for our hunger?
Have you fed your mind, do you still ignore the growling within?
Are you what you need? Have you looked in the mirror lately?
Does it look like you have enough for you and the gaping unknowing your heart feels?
Does your dripping knuckle paint a picture of hope on the pieces of the glass?
Is your beating heart in tune with the universe and do you feel like dancing?
Have you fed your mind, do you still ignore the growling within?
Are you what you need? Have you looked in the mirror lately?
Does it look like you have enough for you and the gaping unknowing your heart feels?
Does your dripping knuckle paint a picture of hope on the pieces of the glass?
Is your beating heart in tune with the universe and do you feel like dancing?
You
Yeah,
You go about making bad choices
You act on the whim of every one with a loud enough voice
You go about getting dressed all wrong
Making bad fashion choices, wearing your heart on your sleeve
Wearing a smile, biting your lips and wearing your lipstick off
Your own mind has lost its voice and your head throbs
You act on the whim of every one with a loud enough voice
You go about getting dressed all wrong
Making bad fashion choices, wearing your heart on your sleeve
Wearing a smile, biting your lips and wearing your lipstick off
Your own mind has lost its voice and your head throbs
You
You realize now that you’ll never
truly find their answers
And the only definition you’d have of you is the one you’ve forged
You no longer succumb to the mind drain they’ve sold you
You no longer wear what they fashion for you
You no longer are what they designed within a demographic
And the only definition you’d have of you is the one you’ve forged
You no longer succumb to the mind drain they’ve sold you
You no longer wear what they fashion for you
You no longer are what they designed within a demographic
You
You are You,and that’s all
that matters.

You (the poet) are exceptionally phenomenal! A very conscious piece that shines an illuminating torch into the dark tunnel of the human soul, with rhetorics flourished with philosophical wits. More ink to your quill.
