Nigerian police are known for everything from civilian brutality to bribery except doing their real work. Okay not to be a hater because they actually do some work and kudos to the real ones out there who are hardworking and who don’t collect bribe.

It’s not only in Abuja that police men collect bribe on the road for no reason whatsoever so much that even when you commit an actual crime, you get to pay more than the actual amount for your crime all for the police man’s interest. 

It’s no news that these police men are not even treated nicely by the government, you hear them on the radio by 7.30am on Embelembe complaining about not being paid for months or being neglected by their employer thereby in an indirect way justifying their actions for bribery.

But it’s only in Abuja that they don't mind stopping you every time you pass especially at night because they feel you are capable. An Abuja policeman be like "oga abeg off your inner light first" then be like "chairman find something for your boys now", he's doing this to protect himself from being filmed (with your phone camera so you won't send it to Linda Ikeji) and implicate him. You will pass the same checkpoint in matter of minutes and they will say "Oga your boys are loyal o wetin you get for us" and if you see reach 6 checkpoints that night, just ready to pay.
