Dear Nigerians: "How are you" A Sign of Disrespect to the Elderly Nigerian

I'm proudly Nigerian any day anytime and as much as we are generally funny and ridiculous sometimes shame go wan kill person when you see how backward and ignorant some Nigerians have been and still are, like the world is changing why tf have you chosen not to change with it? Why tf are you still backward and ancient?
Dear Nigerians why is it that in Naij when you greet someone who is older than you like aunties, uncles or even parents and ask them "how are you" to them it is considered an insult kinda like a taboo, and when they’re gisting someone about what happened they be like "imagine that small girl of yesterday was asking me "how are you" can you imagine children of nowadays what rubbish". Like are these people kidding me? Since when did “how are you” become an insult? They’ll say it’s a sign of disrespect and that it’s only an elder that’s supposed to ask the young person and not the other way around. I feel its plain ignorant and hilariously stupid. What do you guys think biko?
