1. You are on your own. A poor man has no friend’s, even the rich has few or no real friends.
2. People have their own lives to live so don't expect you problems to revolve around them, they have their own problems too.
3. Most people will only stick around and bear the title of "friend" when you have something to offer them.
4. Your decisions are your own and you are to blame for whatever mistakes you make.
5. The phrase Help only comes to those who give it is a myth. The same people you help today will turn their backs on you tomorrow when you need them.  So don't be surprised when it happens. (more after the cut)

6. Don't expect people to treat you the way you want, you will be highly disappointed.
7. Whatever you do, do it for you and not for anyone else, because in the end, it’s your life and only you will bear the consequence for your actions be It good or bad.
8. Sometimes say no to people.  Not because you can't say yes but to see how they would react to not having their way at something. You would learn a lot from this.
9. Be patient but not lazy. Work hard but make patience a behaviour. Hurry and shortcuts will not get you long lasting results, trust me I’ve been there.
10. Take your job very seriously and I mean very very seriously because no matter how small the pay may be or how unimportant it may seem at the time, if you lose it, you will regret it.
11. Whatever you do, do it extremely well, I mean do your best because you never know who's watching and when your reward will come.
12. See challenges as a time to grow, evaluate your life, point out where you went wrong, change and know that it won't last forever.
13. Don't give up in anything you do. As long as it feels right, keep pushing.
14. Half the time what we expect never comes when we want it to so don't stop believing.
15. Always trust your instincts, most of the time that little thought in your mind is right.
